Be Content with Who You Are
For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.
1 Corinthians 1:26
Notice, Paul calls you to check out your calling. What is your calling? What has God really called you to do? That is one thing I tell young people, "When you get called, do not look at everything you want to do. What does God want you to do?"
Look what Paul said. People who are called are not the smartest, the strongest or the bravest. People God calls are vessels willing to be used by God for His purposes in His wisdom, strength and courage. Why? Then God gets all the glory. We cannot say we did it. It is the Lord.
Many times, people get involved serving in the ministry, and they begin to look at other people and their gifts and talents. They start coveting. They want those gifts in their own lives, but God tells them, "No." He is not going to give them those gifts. He wants them to be content where they are.
Why would you want to go beyond what God has given you the power to do? That is how people destroy themselves. You have to be content with who and where you are. Do not try to be anyone else. Be who God made you to be.
It is always sad when people do not want to be who God wants them to be. They are denying the plan God has for them.
God is the source of all truth, and every discovery
is a means of glorifying Him.
